Rubber Decking FAQ
Concrete Curbing FAQ
Is Curb-Crete LLC expensive?
-No. Our curbing is affordable. That's the beauty of curbing; there are so many options, it can fit into anyones budget. It is an investment, and will stay beautiful for years to come.
Why should I spend money to have your curbing installed?
-Curb-Crete LLC has been curbing the low country since 2003, and have completed thousands of jobs. It will enhance your landscape like no other edging and is fully customizable and comes with a 1 year warantee.
Is the color on top of the curbing or colored throughout the concrete?
-We offer both styles of curbing. Stamped overlay curbing which is a durable concentrated concrete material that is poured over the top of gray concrete. We also offer integral curb where the color is added to the mix in the mixer and the color is colored throughout.
Do I have to be at home when my curbing is being installed?
-It is not required that you be home while we install, but I like to discuss the plan with the homeowner before we begin.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for your arrival?
-There are a few things we will need in order to complete the job. We will need access to a water source (hose hook-up) and an electrical outlet (make sure breaker is not tripped). Sprinkler heads and cable wires must be clearly marked. Curb-Crete LLC will not be responsible for damage to unmarked sprinkler heads or cable wire (unless discussed prior).
How long does it take to install curbing?
-It depends on how much we are installing, but most jobs are completed in one day.
What if I have outdoor pets?
-We request that you either leave your pet inside during the times of install until the concrete hardens or let a friend or family member look after them. It is extremely important that the concrete remain untouched while it is in the hardening process.
How deep do you dig and how deep is the footing?
-We dig about 2 inches deep by 10 inches wide. This can be done without disturbing your existing planters. There is no footer as the curb is concrete and is its own footing.
What about frost and ground movement?
-The benefit of our concrete curbing is that is a continuous piece of concrete. Individual blocks or bricks will shift over time and in the winter. Our curb is fiber mesh reinforced which is designed to take the place of re bar or steel and adds strength to the curb. We place control/expansion joints every 3-4 feet. This is designed to control the cracking of the curb during shifting periods and colder months. If the curb should crack, it should crack in the expansion joint and not be noticeable.
Will the curbing crack?
-We experience very little cracking however concrete will crack. We take every precaution to limit the cracking and try to control it with expansion joints. Tree roots are the main contributor to cracking. If this happens, take the curbing piece out, cut tree root out and replace curbing, or call Curb-Crete LLC (fees apply) to fix.
What forms of payments do you accept?
-We accept all forms of payment and is expected at completion of job, unless otherwise discussed. If you are not home after completion, please mail payment to:

What Is Rubber Decking used for?
-Rubber Decking provides a durable, beautiful, soft safety surface over virtually any slid surface
What is Rubber Decking made of and how is it applied?
-Rubber Decking is comprised of the highest quality EPDM Rubber mixed with a specially formulated resin and is troweled onto virtually any substrate to create a non-slip seamless safe surface.
How easy is it to install Rubber Decking?
-Rubber Decking can be installed with minimal tools and manpower. The product is mixed in a mixer, then troweled down over the surface. That's it! No detailing, antiquing, or sealing needed afterwards. If the job is finished today....it is finished. Since time is money, installing Rubber Decking saves you money, and since there is no sealer used, there is no yearly sealer maintenance.
How durable is Rubber Decking?
-Rubber Decking is virtually indestructible. Weather conditions such as freeze and thaw, humid versus dry or extreme hot and cold climates will not change the properties of Rubber Decking.
How does Rubber Decking compare to other resurfacing products?
-Rubber Decking is flexible and allows for movement in the surface without causing cracking, peeling or flaking. Temperature changes on substrates suck as concrete cause it to expand and contract, which for all other existing top coat products on the market would create movement on the topcoat causing cracking, pealing or flaking of the product.Rubber Decking simply flexes with it leaving no adverse effects.
How will the finished product look?
-Rubber Decking not only offers a safe, non skid surface for adults, children and pets, but also creates a beautiful decorative seamless surface. Using a combination of 18 colors, the possibilities are endless.
How does the surface wear?
-Rubber Decking although soft to the touch is a durable hard wearing surface. The easiest explanation would be to think of the tires on your vehicle. The rubber tires not only hold several tons of weight and pressure, but can withstand extreme temperatures from the hot summer days on asphalt to the cold conditions of winter. Walking on it kind of feels like walking on cork material.
